10:30-12:00PM During this time period volunteers will arrange tables and seating for meeting at Maine Veterans Home, 310 Cony Road in Augusta.
12:05 PM – 12:29 PM Base CDR Ferrell, Sr. VCDR Starbird & COB Cyr will stand by at entrance to meet incoming VIP’S w/ COB taking VIP’s to their seats. (wive’s of any VIP’s and the inductee will have reserved seating in first row of tables on one side of main aisle in upstairs meeting room. This is to include any staff personnel accompanying senior officers. Attending press will be provided seats on opposite side of main aisle in front row, with COB having a seat reserved for himself in the same section.
12:30 PM Call to Order (CDR Ferrell)
Brief introduction and explanation of planned induction events
Introduction of VIP guests, representatives, and base officers at head table
12:35 PM Call group to stand followed by Pledge of Allegiance.
12:38 PM Invocation by Base Chaplain Terry Schmidt.
12:40 PM COB Cyr called to Bell position for lost boat ceremony.
CDR Ferrell, COB Cyr perform Bell ceremony.
12:45 PM Introduction of Holland Club Members in attendance (what it means to qualify.).
Assemble all current Holland members to form Honor Guard for presentation in front right side of podium. (COB)
Call inductee’s to stand (half turned) to one side of head
table facing membership and VIP table if possible. (COB)

aboard USS Sarda (SS- 488). Resides in Harrison.
(2.) (2) Steven J. Borgeson, EM3 (SS), Life member USSVI, first qualified 1962
aboa aboard USS Skipjack (SSN-585). Resides in Bridgton.

presentation. (Congratulatory Letter)
(C.) Call Senator Collins Representative, Chuck Mahaleris, to make presentation. (Congratulatory Letter)
(D.) Call Maine State Senate Republican Majority Leader (Dist 3), Jonathan Courtney, to make presentation. (Legislative Sentiments)
(E.) Call Eastern District 1 Commander, Thomas Shannon, to make presentation. (USSVI Holland Certificate, Membership Card & Patch)
(F.) Any other VIP’s to be called to speak (5 minute window)
1:15 PM - 1:45 PM (G.) Call for guest speaker, Todd Woofenden to speak (30 Minutes)

1:45PM (H.) Presentation of Longevity Award Certificate/Pin to
any eligible member in attendance. (Optional depending on time available) (CDR Ferrell). Short auction of items donated to Maine Base for fund raising. (CDR Ferrell)
1:55 PM (I.) End program, serve ala carte lunch to guests (VIP’s, Holland
Club and Guests first in line) (Heidi Ellring & Maine Base Wives).
NOTE: Base CDR Ferrell may choose to present Longevity pins/Certificates during meal.

Governor's wife Anne LePage reads congratulatory letter from Governor Paul LePage thanking Brian and Borgie for their service from the people of the State of Maine
Anne LePage explains to Borgie what the strange marks on the paper mean, while Brian looks on.
Senator Snowe, Senator Collins Reps and the Maine State Senate Republican Majority Leader (Dist 3), Jonathan Courtney, study the letters of congratulations they will present to Brian and Borgie.
An extra honor at this years award ceremonies was Terry Schmidt, being awarded the Robert Link Award by the District Commander for his fine work as the Base Chaplain.
