MINUTES FOR BASE MEETING HELD AFTER MEMORIAL DAY PARADE IN BLUE HILL, MAINE MAY 25, 2015
A meeting was held at a local restaurant in Blue Hill. Larry Ferrell called the meeting to order at 1:00 PM.
A shortened meeting format was done with no Creed of the USSVI read, no Pledge of Allegiance to the flag was performed, and no Tolling of the Bell for Boats lost in May. Will do Boats lost in May at the June meeting.
No Treasurer Report filed, no treasurer attendance. Did have about 10 members for the parade.
The Blue Hill parade went
off quite well. The town was quite
receptive and thankful to us for showing up. Huge turnout for a town that
size. (or any town, for that matter)
OLD BUSINESS/NEW BUSINESS:
Discussed the schedule for the rest of the summer, including our next meeting scheduled in June at the American Legion Hall in Augusta, the Bath Heritage Days Parade for July 4th, and the summer picnic scheduled to be held at my place in July. (July 19 at 1:00 PM)
I will be gone from late July till Sept. So John Starbird will hold the Aug meeting to discuss the Sept Holland club for this year.
There were 4 Navy Captains
(retired) in the parade. Seems like there are a lot of retired Navy there
in Blue Hill. Invited them to join us
