Correy H. Snowden Funeral Services were held 1100, 23 may 2009 at Dow's Corner Cemetery in Standish Maine.


  USS Maine Base Honors WWII Shipmate

 

  On May 23, 2009 members of the USS Maine Base attended a graveside service in Standish, Maine to honor WWII shipmate Correy Snowden. Shipmate Snowden served as a torpedoman in the Pacific on USS Balao SS-285 and USS Cabezon SS-334. After the war, he served on USS Halfbeak SS-352 until his discharge, completing 8 years of honorable service.

  The funeral was officiated by Base Chaplain Terry Schmidt who delivered the eulogy and performed the committal service. After the service, an "Eternal Patrol" certificate and a "Submarine Service" certificate were presented to the family on behalf of U.S Submarine Veterans.

  Military honors were rendered by the Brunswick Naval Air Station color guard.
